We have been in stone business for the past 40 years. Our father Mr. Ghulam Rasool was a pioneer in establishing the mineral business in Namak Mandi, Peshawar, Pakistan. He was amongst the first 1 or 2 people that purchased and sold minerals in Namak Mandi Peshawar and basically laid the foundation for a mineral market which would eventually changed to one of the biggest market for mineral specimen, rough and cut stones, in the world. He was the first regular exporter from this region. He served almost all the foreign buyers who would visit Peshawar, and buy minerals.
At present Namak Mandi is the largest stone market in Pakistan, where mineral dealers, and collectors come from all over the world to purchase their desired unique pieces.
Peak Valley Gems & Minerals was founded in California, USA in April 2000. After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering in California, and working as a Process Engineer in Pharmaceutical Industry for a number of years it was just normal to come back to the old family business. When the opportunity arrived I just took the liberty to enhance the old passion of collecting and handling rocks, gems and minerals. Mineral business has been a passion for the whole family. This has been our family business for the past 40 years. We have been providing the best services and top quality minerals to all our buyers for the past 40 years. At present we have strong friendship with so many buyers from around the globe, that has been visiting us for more than 35 years.
We specialize in the mineral specimen of Tourmaline, Aquamarine, Lapis, Topaz and almost all of the minerals from the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan. These mountain ranges are called THE HIMALAYAS. The Himalayas were made some 20 million years ago, when the two plates collided, thus the inception of these beautiful mountains and some very beautiful, unique and rare minerals in them.
Most of the minerals in Pakistan are found in the Northern Areas. Some of the top quality specimen of Aquamarine are found in Gilgit area. These are the specimen that are associated with excessive mica. The other area where most of the minerals (like Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Topaz, Apatite, Sphene, Epidote, and a number of other minerals) are found is called Skardu. The way to get to the two places is through Silk Road. Silk Road is one of the dangerous road in the world due to its elevation and rigorous mountain peaks.
